Hoes & Long Handled Cultivators

Spear & Jackson
Dutch Hoe

The exceptional quality of this weeding tool is apparent at first glance. The stained, weatherproofed ash handle is extra long (60") so you can work standing upright. The blade is 5" wide heat-treated tempered ultra-strong carbon steel with a baked-epoxy coating. The hoe glides through the soil on the push stroke to cut off weeds at the roots and aerate soil. Made in England. Dutch Hoe $59.95

Oscillating Hoe

Called by many names: Stirrup Hoe, Appalachia Hoe, Hula Hoe, Scuffle Hoe, etc., this classic design garden tool should be in your collection. The stirrup shaped blade is sharpened on both sides so it cuts roots just below the soil on the push and pull stroke. The blade angle and 54" hardwood handle allow you to stand practically straight, so it is easier on your back. Used by professional market gardeners. Blade is 6¼" wide. Excellent quality for a terrific price. Oscillating Hoe $27.95

The Gooseneck Hoe
No weed can hide from these light, easy-to-use hoes. Reach in to cultivate tight spots. Reach to the back, front, and in-between. Three working edges: two 3" edges and the half inch wide point ...all very sharp. Writes a customer:
"You couldn't buy back the gooseneck hoes you sold me!"

Gooseneck Hoe (55" long) $27.95

Short Handled Gooseneck Weeder (24" long) $24.95   order button

GRAPE HOE
An Austrian-made heavy duty "eye hoe", the grape hoe is traditionally used in the stoney hillside vineyards of Europe. The sturdy arched hardwood handle is shorter (42") than most other hoes because, unlike a draw hoe, it is typically used for close-up heavy work. The curved shape and oval cross section of the handle prevent it from twisting in your hands during use. The blade is 7" wide with an overall height of 10". A serious weeding and cultivation tool for stoney and hard clay soil. Grape Hoe $69.95
