Stop the spread of Lyme disease with tick tubes. This clever tick control product stops Lyme disease at the source: mice. Before a Deer tick ever feeds on a deer, it will feed on small rodents such as mice, voles, chipmunks, etc. This product converts the mouse from host to killer and solves the problem before the tick contracts Lyme and spreads it to you, your family or your pets. Studies have shown that this product reduces the risk of exposure to an infected tick by up to 97% on a treated property.

Small cardboard tubes (biodegradabale) are filled with cotton balls treated with the mild insecticide Permethrin. Mice are always looking for nesting material and they happen to LOVE cotton balls! They will take the cotton back to their nests. The Permethrin binds to and is activated by the oils in the mouse's fur. One mouse can kill hundreds of ticks per season with Permethrin on its fur! Permethrin is not water soluble, so it won't rinse off the cotton in rain. Highly toxic to ticks, but less so to small animals. (Toxic to fish, do not use near fish bearing waters)

The ticks appear in three forms: larvae, nymph and adult. The larvae usually hatch in July and August and wait for a blood meal. Although they are not yet carriers of the disease, they are the ticks that will most threaten you the following spring when they are nymphs. Ideally you want the tubes out before these larval ticks appear or at about the same time. That way you will arm more of the mice in time to kill these larvae. The later tubes will still reach mice, but more and more ticks will already have fed. The other time to put tubes out is in the Spring -- mid April and later, even into June. This is because the second stage tick, the nymph, appears in April. It is the source of most cases of Lyme disease because it fed on mice the previous summer, and is still very small, about the size of a ground up piece of pepper. During this time people are out in their gardens, often with bare legs and not noticing the ticks because they are so small.

There is no bad time to get Permethrin onto the fur of a mouse, ticks can pose a serious health hazard and with solutions like this one readily available, treating your property is simple. People who have used this product see excellent results in the first year. This is an effective solution that is used by parks and municipalities.

Each box contains 6 tubes. 6 tubes will treat about 1/8 acre of mouse habitat. For most 1 acre properties, this will be a good amount.

This product should not be used near water with fish. Permethrin is very toxic to fish as well as ticks.
